As stated in my Skincare Quatrinity post, I am in the process of overhauling my skincare routine and searching for Holy Grail products so I have a consistent daytime and nighttime routine with the very best products for my skin.

So below is my current morning winter skincare routine and my thoughts on the current products I am using.

CLEANSER – Colbert MD Balance Purifying Cleanser or Murad AHA/BHA Exfoliating Cleanser.

Neither of these are my Holy Grail so I am still on the hunt for a HG morning cleanser. I tend to prefer some lather in my morning cleanser, from what I hear most people don’t. I just need to feel that my skin is getting clean and impurities are being removed so I need some foam.

ACID EXFOLIATION – Pixi Glow Tonic Exfoliating Toner 5% Glycolic Aloe Vera & Ginseng

I haven’t seen any value to having this step in my routine, and the Glow Tonic is ok, but not for me as I think I tend to exfoliate a lot, so I don’t see any benefit as such this step will be removed from my routine.

BRIGHTENING – Zelens Z Luminous Brightening Serum

Holy Grail product and this step shall remain in my routine.

HYDRATING SERUM – Clarins Hydraquench Intensive Serum Bi-Phase

Holy Grail serum and this step shall remain in my routine

MOISTURISER – Charlotte Tilbury – Charlotte’s Magic Cream

Ok product, but I think I can do better, so I am still on the hunt for my winter Holy Grail moisturiser.

FACE OIL – Sisley Black Rose Precious Face Oil

Not sure if this is a useful step to my routine and the Sisley product made me break out in spots, so not for me. I am still deciding if this step is required in my routine. I will try a few new oils and see if this step is really required or if the product is letting down this step of my routine.

SUNSCREEN – Murad Invisiblur Perfecting Shield Broad Spectrum SPF 30

I like this sun protection as my skin isn’t left oily and ashy. The sun screen is chemical as opposed to physical which is why it works best for my skin type and skin tone. It is also said to be a primer, however I do think a separate primer is required. I am still on the look out for my Holy Grail.

Hopefully this provides context to my current routine and product baseline, so once I start providing feedback and including new products in my Holy Grail List you understand what I am trying to achieve with my skin.
