For those with a lot of work experience you can build on the below to put together a more comprehensive CV. However, I will recommend your CV be no more than 2 pages long; 2 sides of 1 A4 sheet with a font size no smaller than 10 pt.

Depending on the level/seniority of the role you are applying for you can beef up the introductory statement to support this.

In my current role, I ensure compliance with established internal control procedures by examining records, reports, operating practices, and documentation. I also communicate audit findings by preparing a final report; discussing findings with auditees.

I verify assets and liabilities by comparing items to documentation and complete audit workpapers by documenting audit tests and findings.

I also appraise adequacy of internal control systems by completing audit questionnaires and maintain internal control systems by updating audit programs and questionnaires; recommending new policies and procedures.

HBL Accounting LLC: Accountancy Graduate Scheme

I focussed on learning the foundation of accountancy and applying these from senior members of my team. I also focussed on building my knowledge and gaining exposure to a range of clients and sectors as part of the Mergers & Acquisitions deal team on my initial 12 month graduate placement.

I built strong relationships by immersing myself in our clients’ world on-site, as I worked alongside them on my second 12 month placement in the Auditing team.

During this graduate programme I studied and passed my ICAEW Chartered Accountant qualification, with scores within the top 25% quartile of exam entrants in the UK .

Matthew Prentiss College:

City & Guilds NVQ Level 3 Electrical Qualification

An assessment of my competence and a mandatory requirement for JIB Gold Card – ‘Approved Electrician’ status.

I also undertook an AM2 three-day industry recognised trade test, controlled by the National Electrotechnical Training (NET) Organisation in conjunction with the Joint Industry Board (JIB) and Summitskills.

AM2 is a practical assessment with a short online component, taken over 16 hours in total. I undertook a series of timed tasks in specially equipped booths containing typical electrical installation wiring systems. The exercises included an online assessment of applied knowledge, risk assessment and safe isolation, composite installation, inspection and testing of the composite installation and safe isolation of test unit plus fault location.

The above was undertaken as part of my 1 year vocational apprenticeship at HoneyB Electricians.
